Mr. Inmabusiness: Are you married?
PGYx: No.
Mr. IMB: Why?
PGYx: [...]
Mr. IMB: Picky Picky!?

Ms. Freedom: Are you married?
PGYx: No.
Ms. Freedom: Good! Stay single!

Nurse Sweet: Have you seen that movie, No Strings Attached?
PGYx: No, but I heard it's good. What do you think?
Nurse Sweet: Yeah, it is, you should watch it!...The thing is, it's about residents and you remind me of Natalie Portman's character.
PGYx: [...]
Nurse Sweet: NOT that I'm trying to say that you have a lot of relationships with no strings attached or anything! I'm not!
PGYx: Thanks! I'll have to watch it. And for the record, I don't have a lot of relationships with no strings attached.

I love how people seem to think 'love life' is an open topic for discussion! hahah

I am so tired of the reflexive, "oh so you never want a family" response every time I mention surgery to anyone. EVERY. TIME. Since when were my reproductive choices anyone else's business?!

Hope life is treating you well these days, and that you are able to have a nicer work/life/play balance this year. :)

Exactly! My age is another open topic for discussion. In select situations I will honestly share my age as it does seem to engender more respect than I might otherwise garner if I patients them continue to think I'm in my mid-twenties!

Definitely have improved work/life/play balance this year! Today went hiking in sub-freezing weather and have the WHOLE 3-day Martin Luther King Jr. weekend off! Worked at least one day each of the last 3 weekends, tho, including 2 holidays, so I don't feel guilty at all :-).

I hope 3rd year is treating you well!
