I've been blissfully immersed in the stunning beauty of Colorado's blue skies, mountains, & rivers for the past few days. I feel so refreshed that I've decided to remain here rather than return to the East Coast for the remainder of my residency training.

Kidding! But it's a nice fantasy to entertain, anyway. An old friend and I spent the first few days at a Buena Vista B&B with a woodburning stove and narrated by the rushing Arkansas river 20 feet from our door (pictured below). The photo above is the view from the front of the inn. After a day there I felt any baseline stress or worry float away. It was a helpful reminder that I feel renewed and sustained when I spend time in nature's quiet.

Now I'm learning a lot and enjoying reconnecting with my osteopathic friends, colleagues, and mentors in Colorado Springs. I'm a little sad to go home tomorrow but so grateful for the inspiration this trip has brought. I needed it more than I realized!

I was wondering why your blog had been kinda quiet. :) Wow!! It looks absolutely gorgeous there. *marks Colorado on his to visit list*
Oh sigh! I wish I could teleport myself to that exact place. I really miss being in the mountains. :(
Looks absolutely lovely and sounds like you had a seriously needed soul-watering trip.
Your post has inspired me to seek out some little pockets of nature around here.
(Also has inspired me to add Colorado to my list of future residency application spots!!)
Yes, you must at least visit Colorado! One of my favorite adventures ever is a Colorado road trip I took in 2005. It is filled with one soul-nourishing landscape after another! My plane is just about to leave Denver and I'm sad to go.
ABB: I'm newly committed to seeking out pockets if nature near me, too. Let's do it!
