I'm back from a birthday bar/club outing with four of my classmates to celebrate 30 years of me & 25 years of my friend A.
[Note - Our group includes 4 ladies plus 1 gentleman. And despite being in a program that in some ways is like marriage without any of the good stuff, we've managed to make it through our first 2 years of med school without killing each other. My group rocks.]
Alas, I was overdressed in about three times as much fabric as the other ladies after a long day that included two meetings. Not that I show a lot of skin when I go out, but business casual isn't exactly club attire. My group learns medicine & basic sciences via clinical cases, so of course the first part of the night included lots of lively medical discussion.
Then the girls hit the dance floor & I excused myself with a raincheck for another night when I'm dressed less primly & don't have to be up early to see patients the next day.
